First Impressions

” First impression is always the last impression” goes the famous saying.

But I feel that first impressions are always the wrong impressions. Because people want to leave behind a good imprint on you, its obvious that they will present a good image to you. But then that’s not being what you are right?

Judging a person in just 3-4 seconds of meeting them or seeing them is well..a judgmental thing to do.

The more you keep interacting with someone…the second time, the third time, the nth time…that’s when the real person comes out. Its after having your own personal experiences with them that you know what they truly are.

How can the first impression decide that for u? Will it not be a hasty decision to form an opinion at first glance and treat the person subsequently based on that?

The more crazy part is when people form their first impressions based on what others have told them – without even talking to the person in question themselves.

It is simply not giving a fair unbiased chance.

To effectively see through a person on the first go itself you need loads of “lessons learned in life” type of experiences.

With me its always been that I was totally wrong with the kind of first impressions that I have had about others.

The people I presumed kind and thoughtful turned out to be mean & selfish, the people I presumed introverts turned out to be excellent friends & those I trusted were the first ones to break it and with it my mirror of precise pretty first impressions.

And I don’t even want to start contemplating what first impressions others have about me.

Maybe I’m not good at this. But this world has a lot of deceptive people. How can you know which is the mask and which is the real one?

How can we be sure that the first impression that we have of someone is always the right impression?
